The Vesey opened in 2024 as a fresh CQC registration. The first 18 months ran on a stack of point tools: BrightHR for staff records, Mailchimp for patient marketing, Setmore for bookings, Xero for finance, separate spreadsheets for mandatory training, a separate folder of PDFs for policies, and the registered manager's brain for everything else compliance-related.

The first CQC inspection window opened mid-2026. Two weeks before the projected visit, the team was hand-building the evidence pack from screenshots of BrightHR, exported MailerLite stats, scanned policy documents, and the registered manager's notes. The pack was 240 pages and took two staff a fortnight to compile.

It became obvious that the model didn't scale. Every quarter we'd need to do the same thing. And every time a clinician left or a new policy went out, the pack went stale.

What changed

CliniManage was built around The Vesey from May 2026 onwards as the founding customer. The platform launched with the compliance core first — CQC evidence engine, mandatory training matrix, regulator sync, DBS tracker. Within a month every HR write at the hospital was emitting tagged CQC evidence automatically. By the end of June the AI Compliance Copilot was answering the registered manager's daily "where are we light?" question with cited sources.

• AI Copilot — Daily "are we ready?" check by the registered manager. Has drafted three Duty of Candour letters and the bulk of the most recent governance committee narrative.
• Workflows — New starter, leaver, appraisal-due, DBS-expiring, probation-review, training-due — all firing automatically from the daily scheduled scan.

Why it works

Two principles. First: compliance is in every plan tier — even the £149 Compliance starter ships the full CQC evidence engine. Most healthcare HR tools treat compliance as an enterprise upsell; The Vesey is paying for the full Group tier, but on the £149 tier they'd still get the inspection-ready core.

Second: every action is evidence. A clinician completing mandatory training doesn't just tick a box — it emits a record into the CQC evidence stream tagged for Effective + Safe. A policy reviewed isn't just a calendar reminder cleared — it emits Well-led evidence. By the time the next inspection lands, the pack is already 90% assembled.

The Copilot's first answer told me exactly which KLOE was thin. That kind of insight would take a registered manager half a day to dig out by hand. And every answer is cited back to the underlying record, so I can verify it before I commit to anything.

What's next at The Vesey

Three things in the pipeline. The first international tenant signing this autumn will exercise the per-tenant data residency adapter. The Vesey is also the test bed for the predictive evidence assembly feature — modelling their projected CQC inspection window and pre-assembling the pack 90 days out. And the planned multi-clinic rollup will let The Vesey eventually consolidate any future sister sites under a single governance umbrella.
